Iran music bands dedicate funds to child victims of Kermanshah quake

Two Iranian music bands, Mastan and Mehrabani, have joined to give benefit concerts for the child victims of Kermanshah quake.

The Grand Hall of the Interior Ministry in Tehran will host Mastan music group on November 28 and 29.

Another band, Mehrabani, will perform at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on December 17.

The two remarkable ensembles have pledged to dedicate part of the funds raised during the upcoming concerts to the quake stricken children of Kermanshah region in western Iran.

The legendary Iranian vocalist Shahram Nazeri and Kamkar band had previously pledged to hold concert to raise funds for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit their homeland in Kermanshah.    

Pop singer Farzad Farzin and rock star Reza Yazdani have also pledged that they will dedicate part of the profit from their upcoming concerts to the victims.

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck villages and towns in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah last week, killing hundreds and injuring thousands.

The quake is believed to hit the town of Sarpol-e Zahab, about 15km from the border in Kermanshah, the hardest. The death toll is expected to grow, some buildings are razed to ground and dozens are still trapped under rubble.

Regional countries including Turkey, Kuwait, and the UAE also reported feeling a tremor. The quake-hit regions are now stage of inextricably mixed tragic, altruistic and hopeful scenes.
